A variety of guided and non-guided hikes are ready to be explored around the island. From 30 minute walks around the plantation, to full day mountain hikes with an experienced guide.
A few examples of the hikes we offer:
Take an early drive to Santo Antonío where you see Pico Papagaio towering over the city. It has a height of 680 meters and is situated in the centre of the island. Drive further to Ramos’ farm where your hike will start. Look if you can spot one of the endemic birds and see how the vegetation changes with altitude. The trail gets steeper closer to the top. On the difficult spots there are ropes to climb. From the top you have gorgeous views of the island and you will have a panoramic view of Santo António.
Waterfall Oquê Pipi
Heading out from Belo Monte you travel to the south-east of the island. After parking at the entrance of Obô National Park you will enjoy a one and half hour walk through the forest. When getting at Oquê Pipi Waterfall, feel free to take a refreshing splash in its natural swimming pool.
